Looking for land? Have land you’d like to see farmed? The B.C. Land Matching Program provides land matching and business support services. Young Agrarians (YA) supports new farmers looking for land to connect with landowners interested in finding someone to farm their land. To date, YA has made more than 362 matches on 12,600+ acres to date! Visit the B.C. Land Matching Program page to learn more about the program and find a YA Land Matcher in your region. Reach out to bclmp@youngagrarians.org to see how we can support you!
Do you have farmland on the prairies to offer a farmer? Are you seeking land to start or grow your farm business?
Prairies Land Access Support can help. Young Agrarians provides information on various land arrangement options, assists you to develop your vision and communicate your goals, needs and expectations, and helps circulate your opportunity through our online network.
Young Agrarians facilitates Land Access events to bring together landowners and retiring farmers with new and potential farmers to network, learn about leases and land access arrangements, and hear stories of land matches. Our land events have been hosted from Vancouver Island to Alberta.
Young Agrarians offers an ever-growing selection of online courses to support new and aspiring farmers. All of our courses and workshops are led by fellow farmers, food systems allies, and experts in the field (literally!). The following courses offer technical information and farmer perspectives related to farmland access, in addition to the nuts and bolts of Young Agrarians land programming.
These guides provides a framework for new farmers looking to explore options for how to get on land. If you are a landowner wanting to get a better understanding of what a farmer would need to work your land, this guide is also helpful. If you are a farmer looking to negotiate a land access agreement, Appendix B can support the process, and includes Lease and Licence templates. *
The Lease and Licence templates require customization for your individual scenarios. If you are in B.C. we strongly recommend that you connect with a land matcher to get support prior to using one for your own land sharing agreement.
Landholders and Farmer Looking for Land post their land opportunities or needs on the Young Agrarians blog! To do this you must have a vision for your land and an understanding of how your land arrangement would work with a new farmer. Please visit our land blog for examples and email us with content to post.

A national interactive Resource Map focused on centralizing information for new and young farmers from farms in the network, to available land, financial resources, farm suppliers and more.
